The trustee of the society Dr. Purushottamji Thote founded the Ganpatrao Thote Seva Sanstha in 1991. Through this trust, he founded a small unit of Yashwantrao Thote Mountessary Teachers Training Institute (YTMTTI), prier institute to meet the pressing need for scientific training in Social Work. At that time in the pick years of his life simultaneously he was devoting his professional knowledge and started Purushottam Thote College of Social Work in 1993.

To recognize, promote and develop the capabilities and universal values in the students, and teachers, needed for cohesion and welfare of society and nation
To bring out socio-economic and educational upliftment of the marginalized classes such as SC,ST and OBC, women and children by protecting their just claims by all legitimate means
